OBIT 1:

Word has been received at Hartsville of the death of Mrs. Mahala Fix, the aged widow of Prof. William Fix. She died at the home of her daughter in Kokomo. The body was taken to Hartsville Tuesday night and the funeral was then held from the United Brethren Church, Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock.

The remains of Mrs. Mahala Fix, widow of the late Prof. William Fix, of Hartsville College, was brought here Tuesday from Kokomo where she died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John B. Carter, and taken to the home of Mrrs. Mary Mobley.

Funeral Wednesday a.m. at U. B. Church. Burial in College Cemetery. Relatives from a distance attending were Mrs. J. B. Carter, Mr. and Mrs. T. C. McReynolds, Mr. ad Mrs. Mack Blackmore of Kokomo; Mrs. Henry Murphy of Keokuk, Iowa, a daughter; J. Wesley Fix of Horton, Minnesota; a son, Mrs. Albert Wright of Waldron; Mrs. Althon Day and children, Margaret and Francis and Miss Nina Mobley of Indianapolis.
