Services for Katie Sandlin, 74, of Lufkin, will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. R. C. Forrest officiating. Interment will follow in the Whitehouse Cemetery.

Mrs. Sandlin was born February 2, 1922 in Angelina County, Texas, and she died Tuesday, November 12, 1996, in a Tyler hospital from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Mrs Sandlin wa a homemaker and mother. She was a member of McKindree Baptist Church, and had been a resident of Angelina County all her life.

Survivors include her husband, Leo Sandlin; daughter, Helen McDonald of Pasadena; sons and daughters-in-law, Ed M. and Linda Fancher, E. H. and Betty Fancher, all of Lufkin; step-daughter, Jane Hancock of Oklahoma; step-son and his wife, Glenn and Mary Sandlin of Winnie; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; sister, Mae McClendon of Lufkin.
