Leslie Benson Bellmay Jr. — Loving Father and Grandfather
Bantam – Leslie "Old Dog" Benson Bellmay, Jr. passed away on Thursday, August 8, 2019 at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital with his loving family by his side.

Born in Thomaston on April 23, 1936, Leslie was the son of the late Leslie and Vida (Williams) Bellmay.
Leslie proudly served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. He was a longtime carpenter and woodworker and was an avid fisherman.

Leslie is survived by his eight children; Benny Bellmay and wife, Jennifer, Linda LeBeau, Yvette French and husband, Blake, Clark Bellmay and wife, Doreen, Tracey Franco and husband, Nick, Joanne Gollsneider and husband, Greg, Kevin Bellmay and wife, Tina, and Danielle Johnson; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; the mother of his children, Carolyn Bellmay; his sister, Sharon Farrell and husband Greg, many nieces and nephews; and his best buddy, Frank Simone.

A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, August 12, at Thurston Rowe Funeral Home, 283 Torrington Road, Litchfield. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Bantam Cemetery. Calling hours will be held from 10 a.m. until the start of the service at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Disabled Veterans.
