Marie Inez Laurent Zeringue, age 89, whose last day in this life was Sept 16, 2008, was born May 15, 1919. Born in New Orleans to the late Marie Inez Sigur and Achille Louis Laurent, wife of the late Christopher William Zeringue Sr., Mother of Gerardine Gerry Zeringue Whitney of Coppell Texas and the late Christopher William Zeringue Jr. Grandmother of Allison Whitney, Carolyn Whitney, and Mary Catherine Whitney. Sister of Garland Gabriel Laurent, Kathleen Laurent Brown, and the late Myrtle Laurent Klein. Inez was a parishioner at St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church, Metairie. In 2003 after the death of her husband, Inez moved to Coppell Texas to be near her daughter and granddaughters. Granny Nez is very sadly missed by all those she leaves behind, including her family and old friends from New Orleans, and her new friends in Texas.
Relatives and friends are invited to participate in a Celebration of Holy Mass at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. (in Metairie Cemetery) on Monday, October 6, 2008 at 1:00pm. Interment will follow in Metairie Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00pm until service time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to "Priestsforlife.com".
