Mrs. Dr. H. J. Smoot, of Luray, after a lingering illness, died last Sunday morning, Oct. 18th. She was an excellent christian lady, beloved by a large circle of friends and acquaintances. She leaves two daughters, Mrs. Dr. W. L. Hudson and Mrs. H. V. Hudson, and a number of grand children to mourn their great loss. Her husband who is so well and so favorably known in this county has the sincere sympathy of hosts of friends.
