Bob Harrison, 87, died at his home in Stafford on August 2, 2019. Bob was born on July 17, 1932 in Kinsley, KS. to Donald Ray and L. Evelyn (Hargadine) Harrison. He graduated from Stafford H.S. and earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Wichita State. He was in ROTC and commissioned as a 2nd Lt. He and his brother Doug were part of the Honor Guard for President Dwight D. Eisenhower’s internment in the Presidential Library in Abilene. He managed clothing stores in St. John and Leoti, worked at Cessna in Hutch, and Schepler’s and Vulcan Chemical in Wichita. He was on the faculty of Oregon State University and worked at Bi-Mart and EWEB in Eugene. He was an Information systems manager.
He married Carol (Stanley). Their children are Stan Harrison, Goddard and Connie Harrison Schartz, Pratt. Bob’s grandchildren are Chad P. Schartz, Jamie L. (Chris) Froetschner, and Lane W. Schartz and his great-granddaughters are Finley L., Royce C., and Sawyer M. Froetschner. Bob and Carol divorced. He married Lita (Christie). She survives along with her children Steven and Drue Christie, Tempe, Arizona; Michael and Julie Christie, Stafford; Lucinda (Cindy) (Jerry) Rogers, Pretty Prairie and 6 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Other survivors include brothers William L. and Betty (Wentz) Harrison, Eagle Point, Oregon; R. Douglas and Connie (Clawson) Harrison, Sheridan, Montana; and sister Donna S. Staab (Lawrence), Great Bend, KS. and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law, Larry.
Cremation has been selected. Private family inurnment will take place on Thursday, August 8, in the Stafford Cemetery.
In lieu of a memorial, the family invites you to visit a lonely neighbor.
