GARNER -- Alberta Janice Eddy, 78, of Garner died on Sunday, December 9, 2007 at Blue Ridge Healthcare in Raleigh. A native of Rockford, IL, she was born on January 1, 1929 to the late Nels Stanley and Stella Lucas Johnson. In addition to her parents, her husband, Giles Eddy I; brothers, Nels Johnson II and Bobby Johnson; sisters, Lillian Vandebusch, Linda Johnson and Jeri Bahnsen also preceded her in death. Alberta was the first baby born in Rockford in 1929 and was named for the mayor at that time. A wonderful homemaker, she devoted her life to her family. She inspired others with a positive outlook on life.
Surviving are her son, Giles Eddy II and wife, Kim of Ottawa, IL; daughters, Sharon Lund of Roscoe, IL, Jean McAloon and husband, Tim of Mill Spring, Merry Kozoman of Oxford, Kim Lenger and husband, Jerry of Garner, Stacy Wendt of Rockford, IL, Sue Bollock of Raleigh, Sandy Foster and husband, John of Garner; also surviving are her brother, Stanley Johnson of Rockford, IL; sisters, "Joanne" Davis of Rockford, IL, Darlene Britton of Gilbert, IA, LouAnne Foster and husband, Ted of Roscoe, IL; thirty grandchildren; and twenty greatgrandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 15, 2007 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 1701 E. Millbrook Road, Raleigh. The Reverend Emmanuel Pegram will officiate. Inurnment will follow in Pine Forest Memorial Park niche.
