Elvira, a resident of Cordova, passed away with her loving family at her side. She was predeceased by her parents Daniel Trujillo and Fernandita Pacheco; siblings: Della, Anita, Tony, and Albert; and husband Willie Montoya.

Elvira was survived by her children: Floyd, Lulu, Lita, Yolanda, Rachael, Magdalena, Edith and Ernie; a legacy of 20 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandson, who knew her as Grams, Grandma Vera, Baby Grandma, and Grandma Red.

Elvira was the youngest of her four siblings. On 31 October 1941, she married Willie Montoya. She will always be remembered by her iconic curly red hair and her love for the color purple. She enjoyed dancing, spending time with friends and family, and watching Everybody Loves Raymond, The Golden Girls, Let’s Make A Deal and The Price Is Right. Elvira will also be remembered for her dedication as a hard-working nurses assistant and home care giver, as well as for her kindness, generosity and love for her family. She was truly a blessing and will be greatly missed.

Funeral service was on 6 August 2019 in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial followed in the Cordova Presbyterian Cemetery. Pallbearers: Willie Montoya, Mark Montoya, Joshua Archuleta, Johnny Segovia, Dimas Espinosa, Abram Espinosa, Sampson Espinosa, Christopher Lovato, Rey Segovia, Sonya Jackson and Melanie Matthews.
