WEINER — Rommie Ruben Ashcraft, 90, of Weiner died Saturday, May 12, at St. Elizabeth's Place in Jonesboro.
He was born in Grapevine to Richard and Mollie Ross Ashcraft on Jan. 2, 1917. He was a retired rice miller and a member of First Baptist Church of Weiner.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and one sister.
He is survived by his wife, Maunee Taylor Ashcraft of the home; son, Rommie Joe and wife Jean Ashcraft of Jonesboro; daughter Judy and husband Bill Nichols of Weiner; five grandchildren, Beth Smith, Laurie Jo Stowers, Lea Whaley, B.J. Nichols and Robert Nichols; and five great-grandchildren, Hunter Smith, Ross Smith, Shelby Stowers, Luke Nichols and Hayden Nichols.
Pallbearers will include Tom Smith, Chris Stowers, Hunter Smith, Lonnie Clark, Ross Smith and Keith Bise. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of First Baptist Church of Weiner.
Visitation will be held Monday from 12:30-2 p.m. in Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home in Weiner.
Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. with Mark Constant officiating. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Weiner First Baptist Church or the Weiner Fire Department.
