Betty Joyce Wilson, age 88 passed from her life on earth into the presence of Jesus on July 30, 2019. She was the fourth child born to Henry and Thelma Wilson in Dalhart, TX. Shortly after her birth, the family relocated to Ashtola, TX, a small farming community near Clarendon, TX. Betty would eventually become the older sibling to four sisters and two brothers. After graduating Clarendon High School, she married her high school sweetheart, Wayburn Wilson in 1949. Upon attending Clarendon Junior College, Wayburn and Betty settled in Amarillo and later gave birth to two sons, Scott and Dewey.
Those who know and love Betty remember her deep love and devotion to family, friends and the Lord. She was a dedicated wife and mother committed to honoring her husband and raising sons to emulate her strong principles and love for Jesus.
Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Wayburn, four sisters and three brothers. She is survived by two sisters, Shirley Jones of Amarillo and Frankye Bain of Dallas. A son Scott and wife Valorie of Amarillo, son Dewey and Wife Lynne of Dallas, six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Betty was a resident of Brookdale Sleepy Hollow Assisted Living in Amarillo, TX since September 2014.
