Hubert H. Dearing was born at Cedar Hill on February 22, 1902 the son of the late Frank Dearing and his wife Matilda, nee Baumann and died at the St Francis Hospital in Washington on Sunday, Sept, 15, 1974 in his 73rd year. He received his schooling at Reedville, and grew to youngmanhood in that area. On Feb 11, 1924 he was united in marriage to Miss Gertrude Smith in St Louis. They made their home here in Union and four childern were born to this marriage. Mr Dearing was employed in shoework in Union for over 40 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus,4th degree. He served as alderman on the union town Board of Alderman for several years. He was preceded in death by one son, Leroy Dearing amd two granddaughters; Carla and Janeen Toelke. Those who survive are his wife, Gertrude Dearing of Union, Three daughters, Mrs.Marie Siess, Mrs Irene Dlebruegge and Mrs Dorothy Schmitt all of Union. Two sons in law, Earl Delbruegge and Elmer Schmidt. Seven grandchildern and three greatgrand childern. Two brothers, Raymond Dearing of Plane,Iowa and Walter Dearing of Union. Six sisters, Grace Henderson, Alice Corum, and Florence Lambeth all of Union, Mildred Bay of Villa Ridge, Etthel Marie Germen of Glencoe, and Ada Ahmann of Washington, sisters-in-laws ,brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, Sep 18,1974 from the Oltman Funeral Home in Union at 9:30 am with Funeral Mass at 10:00 am from the Immaculate Conception Church in Union by Rev S. ASchiene. Interment followed in the Union Cemetery
