Hannah was the second daughter and second child (of 10) of Lieut. John Cogswell (1665-1710) and his wife Hannah (Goodhue) Cogswell Perley (1673-1742) of Ipswich, Essex County in the Massachusetts Bay Colony. After being widowed her mother remarried to Thomas Perley.

Hannah married twice also: (1st) to Thomas Burnham (1694-1742) by whom she had several children including Francis Burnham (1720-1793), Deacon Thomas Burnham (1727-1799) and daughter Rachel (Burnham) Andrews (1730-1809). After being widowed, she married (2nd) on November 9, 1743 at the age of 50 to two time widower Captain Thomas Choate (1671-1745). No children from this union.

This contributor/account manager is a direct descendant of Hannah through her daughter Rachel (Burnham) Andrews and granddaughter Hannah (Andrews) Perkins (1753-1845) down through contributor's paternal grandmother Lucille (Perkins) Creighton FAG ID#50748303.
