COURIER JOURNAL OBITUARY - 07/03/2006
BOTT - Bertrand G. "Bert" and Florence Elizabeth, passed away at their residence. Bertrand Bott, age 85, of Louisville passed away Wednesday, June 28, 2006, and Florence Elizabeth Bott, age 84, passed away Saturday, July 1, 2006. They were preceded in death by their son, Ronald B. Bott. The former Florence Elizabeth Daugherty, a native of Marion Co., KY, she and Bert had been married for 63 years. Bert was a graduate of Ahrens Trade School and received a degree in accounting from U of L. He worked for the Reynolds Metal Co. in the accounting department. Bert was the top salesman for Fuller Brush Co. and Diebold Inc., from which he retired. In his retirement years he worked in Real Estate, and was a volunteer assisting the elderly with their tax returns. Mr. Bott was an army veteran of World War II , a member of Columbia Athletic Club, and both were members of St. Barnabas Catholic Church. Bert and Florence are survived by their children, Judy Pollard (David), Sharon Clark (Gary), Bruce Bott (Susan), all of Louisville, and Jerry Bott (Marilyn) of Sellersburg, IN; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Mr. Bott is survived by three sisters, Margie Ware, Dorothy Feltman and Betty Mahaffey. Mrs. Bott is survived by three sisters, Cecelia Spalding, Colette Schickel and Gladys Thomas; and five brothers, Clifton (Nancy), Charles "Pete" (Kathleen), Harold (Louise), Joe Paul (Jeanie) and Louis R. Daugherty Jr. (Matilda). A joint funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 5, 2006, at St. Barnabas Catholic Church, 3042 Hikes Lane, with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Monday and from noon -8 p.m. Tuesday at Ratterman & Sons, 3800 Bardstown Road. Expressions may take the form of contributions to Alzheimer's Association or Hospice of Louisville.
