VELMA M. THORPE
Velma M. Thorpe, retired Aerospace Logistics LTV/LORAL, was born on November 13, 1935 in Lawrence, Massachusetts and passed gently on October 28, 2003 in Arlington, Texas. She was preceded in death by her only child, William K. "Bill" Thorpe Jr.

She was a compassionate, complex, free, brilliant and beautiful soul who loved all animals; domestic, wild and even the human kind. She shared her passions for life, music, philosophy, history, astronomy, movies, nature and travel and always made her home a sanctuary for others.

She was an awesome friend and always believed in 'keeping it real'. Her friends are heartbroken with loss yet filled with fantastic memories of her limitless humor and style, tenderness, thousands of acts of charity and quiet conversations.

Many thanks to Dr. Reichelt, Dr. Varga, Drs. Irdan and Ridvan Shaw, Dr. Waechter and the wonderful nurses and staff at Medical Center of Arlington PCCU ande ICU.

Velma is survived by her daughter-in-law, Donna Thorpe and her children Angela, Julia and Jacob Vandergriff; '2nd son', Tab & Val and Grace Osterhoudt; loving friends, Sandy Pappas, Canoga Park, California, Bob & Kay Lewis, Marshall, Texas, Lori Williams, LaDonna Bruce, Dan Simms, Caesar & Norma Salazar, Robert Shepard, Kevin Green, MewMew, Major Tom and ZEE.
