Obituary for Janice Carol Woods
Janice Carol Woods of Stratford, Oklahoma was born July 18, 1944 in Stratford to Jack and Majoretta Woods. She passed away at her home in Stratford July 24, 2019 at the age of 75 and 6 days. Janice grew up in the Stratford area and attended school here. She owned and operated Janice's Bar B Que restaurant for many years. She was a wonderful cook, made the best fried pies you ever tasted. She was famous for her tender ribs and sauce. She loved to grow vegetable gardens, flowers, made beautiful afghans, and was quite the artist loved making beautiful paintings. She was a mom, grandma, and great grandma. She was an icon in our little community and we will surely miss her.
Preceded by ; her parents Jack and Majoretta, and one sister Mary Ann Powell.
Survived by; two daughters; Kelly Gunter & husband Jeff of Norman, OK.
Shelly McSwain of Stratford, OK.
one sister; Cathie Elmore also of Stratford.
7 grandchildren; Jeffrey, Travis, and Kyle Gunter, Katie Badger, Jimmie Carol Brittian, Loran McSwain, and Kristy McSwain.

Pallbearers; Jeffery, Travis, and Kyle Gunter, and Seth Fires.

Services; 11:00 AM Monday July 29, 2019 at the Free Will Baptist Church Stratford, OK. Officiating; her uncle Rev. Lewis Perry. Burial will be in McGee cemetery Stratford, OK.
