Obituary May 19, 1898:
Harrold Daniel, who for nearly forty-five years has been a resident of Swan Twp, died Thursday at Logansport, where he has been for nearly a year under treatment for mental derangement. This condition is believed to have resulted from grief over the loss of his wife. He was born in Columbiana County, Ohio, Nov. 8, 1814 and at death was 83 years, 6 months and 5 days of age. He was married to Margaret Monaweck, and they had twelve children. Ten of them survive. Mrs. Harrold died about six years ago. He located in Noble County in 1852, bought a farm and paid for it by the severest toil. He bore faithfully the burdens incident to pioneer life in Noble County. His remains were brought home for interment and the funeral occurred on Sunday at Bethlehem Church.
