Following his wishes no services will be held.
Dave was born on April 5, 1951, Yankton, South Dakota, to Gerald and Jeanette (Shadbolt) Brech. He grew up in the Vermillion area and spent most of his working life as a mechanic. The past few years he worked as a custodian for Wal-Mart.
Dave was a very outgoing and loving person who enjoyed watching NASCAR, fishing and spending time with family and friends. When he wasn’t home or at work Dave loved to spend time at his favorite bar, Bunyan’s, where he could often be seen chatting someone up at the bar or playing a five dollar game of pool in the corner, which is why he became known as Five Dollar Dave.
Dave is survived by his son, Mark (Ashley) Brech of Mobile, Alabama; his sisters, Debra (Leo) Erickson of Tabor, South Dakota and Carla (Roy) Stokely of Vermillion; his brother-in-law, Russell Stokely of Vermillion; his grandsons, Darrell Brech and Dillon Brech; his nieces, Lauri, Tina, Amy, Melinda, and Michelle; his nephew, Michael; and his special friend, Angela Sands of Sioux City, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his infant sister, Lori Ann Brech; his parents; and his grandparents.
