Once he graduated from high school, Mr. Harrison enrolled in Mississippi Sate University where he studied surveying. He eventually went into business for himself. "He loved it," said longtime friend Ann Myrick. "He liked dealing with people." Mr. Harrison, who owned his business for 20 years, did most of his work for real estate and building companies. He worked mainly in the Jackson area. Mr. Harrison is also remembered for having a warm personality. "He had a deep and compassionate feeling for people," said his 11-year friend Myrick. "He's the kind of person you have once in lifetime." "He was just a happy person," said Mr. Harrison's sister, Shirley Harrison Willis. He was a retired captain with the U.S. Army National Guard with 20 years of service. He was also a member of First Baptist Church of Clinton.
