Sarah A. Harris was the daughter of John and Sarah (Skinner) Harris. She married Edward Babcock December 5, 1833, in Windsor, VT.
"The funeral services of the late wife of E. G. Babcock, Esq. general wood agent of the Central Vermont Railroad, of this place (Burlington) were held at Windsor, VT Friday afternoon. The family formerly resided in Windsor. Mrs. Babcock was highly esteemed and beloved by all who knew her, and the family have the sympathy of a large circle of our town's people. Her death was caused by heart disease. She was a devoted member of the Baptist church, and was prominent in all good works in the society." (Burlington Free Press, June 29, 1877)
