Funeral services for Mrs. Dorothy Jean Askins Smith, age 78 of Fayetteville, TN, conducted at Higgins Funeral Home with Rev. Thomas Smith officiating. Burial in Barnes cemetery beside her husband Horace Lindsay Smith.
A native of Lincoln Co. she was the daughter of the late Joseph Elgie and Tennie Sue Askins.
She was a retired LPN and a member of the Methodist Church.
Survivors include two daughters Linda Jean Galbreath of Goodlettsville, TN, Marilynn Suann Newman of Fayetteville, TN, three grandchildren Matthew M. Houd and wife Deidre Ranf, Leslie Cole and Rose Lynnette Newman, and one sister Sara Jane Askins Barnes of Fayetteville.
She was preceded in death by a sister Mildred Wotring.
