James Earl Gumbert, 70, of Ironton, Ohio gained his Wings to Heaven on Wednesday July 10, 2019, leaving from St. Mary’s Hospital in Huntington, West Virginia.

The West Virginia native was born November 17, 1948, a son of the late Alice Blum Gumbert and the late Rosco Gumbert. Jim was a heavy equipment operator formerly employed by SML Construction. In his most recent employment, he was the manager for the Riverside Campground. He loved to camp, cook and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He attended Sharon Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Arnold Ray Gumbert.

He is survived by his wife Jackie Vaughn Gumbert; five daughters, Melissa Hale and her husband Paul, Bobbi Clutters (Hogsten) and her husband Craig, Rosalind Lewis, Carolyn Barker, Jamie Malone; one brother; Gary Gumbert, fourteen grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.

Graveside Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Monday July 15, 2019 in the Woodland Cemetery in Ironton, Ohio with Rev. Kenny Waller officiating.

Friends may a call from 11:45 am till 12:45 pm on Monday prior to the departure of the funeral procession from the First Christian Baptist Church 2427 S. 11th Street; Ironton, Ohio 4568.
