Gladys Lucile Girdley, 89, daughter of the Rev. Ovid Clifton Wilcoxon and Maude R. (Roberson) Wilcoxon, was born March 15, 1909 at Manila, AR. She died May 5, 1998, at Springfield. She married Roland G. Girdley June 16, 1931 at West Plains.
A former Texas County resident, she worked at International Shoe Factory in Houston, was employed at Bennett's Shoe Store and was organist at ihe First Baptist Church in Houston for many years.
She moved to Nixa from Houston.
Mrs. Girdley was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Surviving are one son, Joe of Tempe, AZ; three daughters, Patricia Haythorne of Sanford, FL; Jane Kelly of Springfield and Ruby Lea Cawthra of Sand Springs, OK; and six grandchildren.
Graveside services were May 8 at the Oaklawn Cemetery at West Plains under the direction of Harris, a Heritage Funeral Home of Nixa.
