Mary “Jeanne” Bardgett, nee Branch, of Jefferson City, married 55 years to the late John “Jack” E. Bardgett, Sr., beloved mother of John E. Bardgett, Jr. and wife Kim of Chesterfield, MO, Suzanne Bardgett Goldrosen and husband Donald of Falls Church, VA; Bruce Bardgett and wife Judy of Plano, TX, Beth Bardgett Hall and husband Peter of Durango, CO. Dear grandmother of Bryan Cardwell and wife Kasey, Justin and Jacqueline Bardgett, Bruce and Melissa Goldrosen, Jennifer and Jason Bardgett; sister of Bruce Branch (deceased); sister in law, aunt, cousin, and friend to many.

Mary “Jeanne” Bardgett was born September 13, 1928 in St. Louis, Missouri, the daughter of the late James Harvey and Stella Branch. She graduated from St. Joseph’s Academy and attended Webster University. Jeanne and Jack were united in Holy Matrimony on August 1, 1953 at Little Flower Parish in Richmond Heights, MO where they renewed their vows 50 years later. She and Jack lived in their home town of St. Louis until 1970 when they moved to Jefferson City, MO. Over her years in Jefferson City, Jeanne was active in The Cathedral of St. Joseph’s Parish, The Girl Scouts of America and St. Mary’s Hospital Auxiliary. She worked in the Missouri Senate for 15 years and retired at age 70. After retirement she and Jack enjoyed traveling to distant destinations and visiting friends and family.

Jeanne returned to the St. Louis area in 2017 and lived at The Willows in Chesterfield and this past April she moved to The Sheridan Assisted Living, also in Chesterfield. Jeanne loved Mizzou basketball and hardly ever missed a home game. She often passed her summer evenings by watching her beloved St. Louis Cardinals on television. Jeanne was a devout Catholic that enjoyed participating in Sunday Mass. Jeanne lived her life with grace, kindness and a heart that embraced all she met.

Visitation will be held at 11:00 am Saturday July 20, 2019 at The Cathedral St. Joseph in Jefferson City, Missouri, 2215 West Main St. followed by a mass of Christian burial at noon. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Jefferson City.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Catholic Charities of Central and Northern Missouri, PO Box 104626, Jefferson City Missouri 65110.
