Funeral services for Mrs. Georgie Kimball, 83, will be at 10 a.m. Friday, April 27, in Hixson Funeral Home.
The Revs. Henry Mancuso and Don Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery at Westlake.
Visitation wil be from 6-10 p.m. today, April 26, with a memorial service by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2130 Ladies Auxiliary at 7 p.m., and from 8 a.m. Friday.
Mrs. Kimball died Tuesday in a local hospital.
A native of Westlake, she had lived in Lake Charles for many years. She worked at Muller's Department Store for 15 years, then was a switchboard operator at McNeese State University until she retired in 1973.
Mrs. Kimball was president of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2130 Ladies Auxiliary in 1960-61, president of District 5 VFW Ladies Auxiliary in 1965-66, state president of VFW Ladies Auxiliary in 1972-73, and president of VFW Ladies Auxiliary Past State Presidents in 1984-85.
She was also a member of the Telephone Pioneers of Louisiana, a charter member of the Southwest Louisiana Chapter, Muscular Dystrophy Association, and a member of the Cystic-Fibrosis Foundation.
Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Ernest (Connie) Mouhot of Lake Charles and Mrs. Milton (Frances) Zschiedrich of Chalmette; one sister, Opal Higdon of Houston, four grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Members of VFW Post 2130 will serve as pallbearers.
