Peggy Cline Sconce, age 87, of Hildebran, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, July 18, 2019 at College Pines Nursing Center in Valdese, NC. She was born June 10, 1932 in Valdese, NC and was the daughter of the late Guy Cline and Sudie Benfield Cline.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, B.J. Scronce, brothers Bob Cline, Kenneth "Jock" Cline and Cecil Cline; sisters, Mardene Young and Doris Bush and a nephew Randy Young.
Peggy was a graduate of Valdese High School and graduated from Clevenger Business College in Charlotte. She retired from the office at General Electric in Hickory where she worked as an accountant. For the past several years, Peggy had been a resident of Kingston Assisted Living in Hickory where she enjoyed her many friends. Her hobbies were travel, shopping, collecting Christmas decorations, card clubs and participating in church activities. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Hildebran and prior to that was a member of Penelope Baptist Church in Hickory.
Those left to cherish her memory are daughter Lisa Scronce Stroupe and husband Mike of Hildebran, her devoted fur-baby, Cassie, sister in law, Judy Cline of Connelly Springs, nephews, Andy Cline (Diana) and their children, Seth, Anna Marie and Luke of Connelly Springs, nephew Michael Cline (Dawn) of Morganton, nieces Debbie Young of Icard, Alice Sanders (Charles) and their daughters, Addyson and Aubrey of Hickory. Also, a great-niece, Brandy Barrier (Matt) and their son Dylan of Icard and special cousins, Jeana Whisenant (Ed) of Connelly Springs, Rob Gallagher of Charlotte and Alex Gallagher of Portland, OR will all remember Peggy with love. She also leaves behind her special extended "Hines" family and many wonderful neighbors and friends.
Services to be at First Baptist Church Hildebran on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at 2:00 PM officiated by Rev. Ron Arndt and Rev. Nathaniel Austin. Burial will be in Catawba Memorial Park in Hickory.
