Mrs. Emma Draeger Succumbs In Columbus Hospital.
Mrs. Emma A. Draeger, 81 years old, died at 11:30 o'clock Sunday night at Columbus city hospital, where she had been a patient almost three years since she suffered a broken hip followed by a paralytic stroke.
Born in Germany, Nov. 3, 1863 she was married to August Draeger October 28, 1888, in Dayton county, Mo. The couple moved to Cherokee county, 10 miles southwest of Columbus, 52 years ago. Mr. Draeger died 36 years ago.
Mrs. Draeger had been a member of the Lutheran church since childhood.
Surviving are the following children: August Draeger of Iowa, Gus Draeger of Illinois, Fred and Paul Draeger of near Columbus, Mrs. Anna Burton of Columbus, Albert Draeger of Hallowell, Otto Draeger of Miami, Henry Draeger of Coffeyville and Chris Draeger of Hallowell; a sister, Mrs. Anna Muehling of Carthage; five brothers, Will Hoffman of St. Joseph, and Herman, Albert, Emil and Ted Hoffman of Springfield; 40 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the Sherwin Christian church, west of Columbus, with the Rev. Ernest Jones officiating. Burial will be in Dove cemetery under the direction of the Ruhland funeral home.
