Ruben L. Boyter, 86, of 1527 Bavia St., died at 4 a.m. Sunday at Confederate Memorial Hospital after a long illness.

Mr. Boyter was a native of Cass County, Texas, and had been a resident of Shreveport for 25 years. He was a retired night watchman for Virginia Carolina Chemical Company and was a member of Laurel Heights Baptist church.

He is survived by four sons; R. L. Boyter and Dennis Boyter of Shreveport, Willie Boyter of Bossier City, and Horace Boyter of Arabi; two daughters, Mrs. Frank Flash of Hunstville, Ala, Mrs. W. P. Gilmer of Shreveport; 15 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be H. W. Boyter, W. E. Boyter, R. C. Boyter, Charles Boyter, W. P. Boyter and Glen Emerson.
