The sad death of Mr John E Franklin occurred Friday afternoon at 6 pm at the home of his father, Mr J R Franklin, near town.His death was a sad one and quite a surprise to nearly every one, as but few knew that he was sick. Mr Franklin has been in bad heath since his return from Texas some months ago. For some days he had been feeling unwell but did not go to bed until last Saturday. He had a high fever then and this finally resulted in congestion of the brain which caused his death. Mr Franklin was 24 years of age and was very highly esteemed. His death is a cause of much sadness. The funeral services were held at the family residence Saturday morning at 8:30 am, conducted by the Rev W W Brinsfield. The remains were interred at Antioch Church, near Thomaston, by the Undertaker Summers.
