Arabella, or "Belle" as she was usually called, was the daughter of Adam and Catherine Jane (Shook) Barnhart. She married her first cousin William Barnhart McKinney in 1878 in Pennsylvania, after which time they migrated to Iola, Allen County, Kansas, along with both of their sets of parents and siblings. Together the couple had eight children before she passed away at almost 40yrs.
