SERVICES FOR MRS. ZACHARY NIMELA THURSDAY, AUG. 18
Funeral services for Mrs. Zachery Niemela, 59, a pioneer resident of this area, who passed away Sunday, August 14, at the Goldendale General Hospital following an extended illness, will be held from the Phillips Funeral Home Thursday, August 18 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Walter G. Smith of the Baptist Church officiating. Interment will be made in the Centerville Grange Cemetery.
Mrs. Niemela spent her entire life in Centerville and Goldendale. The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Lehto, she was born in Centerville May 13, 1890. On June 1, 1907, she was united in marriage to Zachary Niemela and to this union three children were born, two, Alice and Wilbert, preceding her in death.
Mr. and Mrs. Niemela operated a farm in the Warwick area until 1939 when they moved to Goldendale, where they have since made their home, Mr. Niemela engaging in the carpenter business.
She is survived by her husband, Zachary Niemela, and one daughter, Elma Adams of Camas and four grandchildren, Gene Adams, Shirley Fryberger, James Adams and Robert Niemela. Also two sisters, Mrs. Amelia Clemo, Willows, Calif., Mrs. Esther Whetsett, Portland, Ore.; two brothers, August Lehto, Longview and Oscar Lehto Klickitat and many of their friends and relatives.
