Joe Bailey Sharp, 92, died Aug. 2 at Brighton Gardens Health Care Center in San Antonio.

Services were set for Wednesday, Aug. 4 at Rutledge Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Carlton Cemetery.

Mr. Sharp was born October 23, 1906 in Hico, the son of Watt and Ella Sharp. He was married to Leona Bain in Carlton on Sept. 10, 1929. He was a carpenter and a farmer.

He lived in San Antonio, Waco and for 50 years in Carlton. He was a Methodist.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Peggy Jo Sharp Thompson; three brothers, Purley, Sam and Watt Sharp and three sisters, Lorene, Freda and Dickie.

Survivors include his wife, Leona Sharp of San Antonio; two sisters, Margie White of Carlton and Bill McKnight of Waco; a brother, Doc Sharp of Midland; a granddaughter, Angela Thompson Braswell and her husband Gordon of San Antonio; a grandson, Todd Thompson and his wife Robin of Athens; and four great-grandchildren, Kris, Erin, Tyler and Spencer.

Pallbearers were Gordon Braswell, Kris McGilvery, Todd Thompson, Don Thompson, Bruce Mohan and Gene Sharp.
