Rochester, NH- Joan Hazel Lemley (Burke) Johnson, 87 of Rosewood Manor and formerly of Gafney Home, passed away May 15, 2019 at Frisbie Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NH.

Born September 4, 1931 in Madison, CT daughter of the late Luther Davis and Hazel (Tower) Burke, she lived in CT for many years prior to moving to New Hampshire.

Joan graduated from Rittners School of Floral Design, Boston MA. She worked as a Floral Designer at Madison Flower Shop for many years.

She was a lifetime member of the Branford and Gilford, CT: Wives of U.S. Sub Veterans, WWII, in which she was: secretary, vice president, and state commander. Joan was a past member of Sarah, Inc. She enjoyed reading, coloring adult coloring books, as well as, playing Scrabble and Bingo with friends in Union, NH.

Pre-Deceased by her husbands: William Lemley and Charles Johnson, as well as, her oldest daughter, Elizabeth Nelson, who passed one day before her. She leaves three daughters.
