Donna Jean (Brock) Thomas, 76, of Lake Wales, Florida passed away July 1, 2019 at Winter Haven Hospital in Winter Haven, Florida. She was born at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Covington, Kentucky on April 19, 1943 to Hershel and Margaret (Hagedorn) Brock.

She was the devoted wife of Clarence “Tom” Thomas celebrating thirty-seven years of marriage. They were blessed to share a large blended family. Donna is survived by her loving husband, “Tom” of Lake Wales, FL; daughter, Tamera (husband, Troy) Terew of Fishers, IN; grandchildren, Kasarah, Kody, and Kolton; brothers, Ron (wife, Linda) Brock, and Rick (partner, Anne Scaringelli) Brock; great-uncle, Tim (wife, Bonnie) Hagedorn; step-daughter-in-law, Stacy Thomas; grandchildren, Clayton, Leslie and Jaxson; step-son, Jim (wife, Carolyn) Thomas; grandchildren, Brad (wife, Heather plus great-grandchild on the way), Chelsea, and Heather, great-grandchild Trevor, and many other friends and extended family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Randy Brock, and step-son David Thomas.

Donna was a member of Laughing Squares (Square Dancing Club) for thirty years. She remained active and outgoing throughout her life. She enjoyed riding her bike, playing cards (po-ke-no) and shuffleboard. At any time you may have found her shopping and attending movies with friends. She was a member of Curves and attended every week - where she of course made more dear friends. She enjoyed reading, traveling, and spending time with family and friends; always smiling and laughing, and a friend to everyone she met. A dotting and devoted wife, mother and grandmother-she will be greatly missed.

A memorial service will be held at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens - 1977 South State Road 135, Greenwood, on September 21, 2019 where her cremated remains will be interred. In addition, a memorial service will also be held at Twin Fountains retirement community in Lake Wales, Florida at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Donna’s memory to the Marcus Institute for Aging Research https://www.marcusinstituteforaging.org/ (to help further research with hospital delirium and aging).
