Gerald B. Rowley, age 63, died June 19, 1997 of a heart attack while on vacation in Ilwaco, Washington.
He was born in Vernal, Utah on November 1, 1933 to Emmett C. Rowley and was raised by his grandmother, Margret Castro. Married Marnell Jackson, July 31, 1951 in Vernal, Utah. Served four years in the United States Air Force. Dad drove truck and worked construction most of his life. He was a member of the Teamsters and worked for Geneva Rock Products. Retired because of health reason in 1993. Dad was an avid motorcycle rider. In 1962 he was Intermountain Motorcycle Champion. He loved Desert Racing and raced desert for 15 years.
Survived by his wife, Marnell, West Jordan; three children, son, Michael D. Rowley, wife Phyllis, Kearns; Jerry Ann, Salt Lake City; Kelly Fawcett, husband, Larry "Bud", Sandy; brother, Mel and wife, Sue, Sunnyvale, CA; many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. Three wonderful grandchildren that he loved dearly, Mike "Munch" Rowley, Grady Cooper and Kylie Ann Fawcett. Preceded in death by daughter, Jodi Lyn; father and grandmother.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 24, 1997 at 11 a.m. at Redwood Memorial Estates Chapel, 6500 South Redwood Road. Friends and family may call Monday, 7-9 p.m. at Redwood Memorial Estates Mortuary and one hour prior to services. Interment, Redwood Memorial Estates.
