John was born September 21, 1941 in Enid, Oklahoma to William Harvey Hall and Elizabeth Catherine (Smith) Hall.
He graduated from Blue Mound H.S. and attended Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma. He married Diana D. Doty on August 17, 1963 in Blue Mound, Illinois.
He retired from Design Air Heating and Air Conditioning, the business he started in the fall of 1977. He was a member of Elwin United Methodist Church. He was a 22 year heart, double-lung transplant survivor, and he was very active in organ donation groups.
Surviving are his wife, Diana “Dee” of Decatur; daughter, Christine Ossowski (Troy), son, James (Saramanda) and grandchildren, William, Wesley, and Diana Hall; and Zachary Ossowski, all of Decatur, Illinois and sister, Mary Elizabeth Pederson of Seattle, Washington.
John was preceded in death by his parents.
