Lloyd B. Stevenson was found dead yesterday morning in a small room at the implement store of Hinchman & Hinchman, on First street, shortly after 8 o'clock. He had been sleeping in the room for the past fourteen months, and on yesterday morning when James Hinchman went to the store-room he was alive, but during Mr. Hinchman's absence from the store room he had died. Mr. Stevenson had been sick for the past two days, claiming that it was caused from the eating of half-cooked dried peaches.
The deceased man had been living in this city for a number of years past, and was a stone mason by trade, having built a number of cisterns in this city. He was 82 years old and a native of Ohio. He came here from Milroy and claimed to be related in some way to ex-Vice President Stevenson.
Coroner E. I. Wooden was notified of the death, and after viewing the body, it was taken to the undertaking establishment of George C. Wyatt & Co, and prepared for burial.
His children at Indianapolis were notified yesterday of thedeath, and his daughter, Mrs. W. Medlan, and husband, came hear this morning.
The remains will be taken to Milroy on the 7:26 train tomorrow morning, where the funeral services will be held at ten o'clock. conducted by Rev. A. N. Marlatt. Burial in the Milroy cemetery.
The following children survive him: Mrs. W. Medlam, Will Stevenson and Mrs. Gertie Dacoby, Indianapolis; Mrs. Allie Fowler, Oakland City, and Mrs. Nettie Lepscum, Clinton, Mo.
Coroner Wooden and Dr. J. C. Sexton will hold a postmortem this afternoon.
