Nicola Nick’ Buzzo, 93, of 1420 Franklin St., Bluefield, died Sunday, May 23, 2004 at his residence. Born Sept. 17, 1910 in Amorosi, Italy, he was a son of the late Nick Buzzo Sr. and Maria Giuseppa Buzzo.
Nick had been a resident of Bluefield for 90 years. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and retired from the Bluefield Daily Telegraph as an engraver after 45 years of service. He was preceded in death by three brothers: Joe, Tony and John Buzzo. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Frances E. Williams Buzzo; a daughter, Donna White and her husband Ronnie of Ridgeville, S.C.; sons, Ron and his wife Serena of Richmond, Va., Robert L. ‘Bob’ Buzzo and his wife Cathy of Bluefield, Va. and Larry Buzzo and his wife Sharon of Peterstown; a sister, Mary Buzzo Williams of Bluefield; a brother, Dominick Buzzo of Bluefield; grandchildren, Nicole Glenn and her husband David of Chicago, 111., Craig Blevins and his wife Pam of Summerville, S.C., April Brant and her husband Timmy of Monks Corner, S.C., Melissa Buzzo of Charlotte, N.C., Angela Buzzo of Bluefield, Va., Jennifer Buzzo of Vinton, Va.; step grandchildren, Kerry and Jennifer White, Troy Broyles, Michele and Jason Campbell.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be said at ll a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Fr. Patsy J. Iaquinta as Celebrant. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Princeton where friends and family members will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends today at Mercer Funeral Home & Crematory in Bluefield from 6-7:30 p.m. where a Christian Wake Service will be conducted at 7:30 p.m.
