Bracie Lea Cox Brown (Lea), born August 30, 1922 in Toro, LA, died June 28, 2016. She was married to the late Maurice L. Brown, Jr. for 56 years. She is survived by her 2 sons: Maurice L. "Buddy" Brown III (Ginger) of Stone Mountain, GA, Mark Brown (Lisa), Hoschton, GA; 2 daughters: Cindy Bopes (Gene), Palm Desert CA, Laura Harris (Keith), Greensboro, GA; 10 grandchildren: Megan Bopes Mondavi, Kelly Ingle (Chris), Kris Harris (Kattie), Katherine Nolley (Tim), Adam Brown (Kristina), Eric Brown (Holli), David Brown (Meghan), Melissa Thompson (John), Steven Brown (Charolette), and Brian Brown (Cierra); 13 great-grandchildren: Sarah Grace Ingle, Amelia Ingle, Nolan Harris, Beth Harris, Jake Harris, McKenzey Harris, Ace Nolley, Caroline Brown, Luke Brown, Caleb Brown, Jack Brown, Eli Brown, and Ethan Brown; 2 sisters: Zelma Benson of Lacombe, LA, and Lillie Skinner of Grand Cane, LA; 1 brother: Marion Cox (Bonnie) of Lumberton, TX. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 01 at Jefferson Avenue Baptist Church, 1150 Jefferson Avenue, East Point, GA 30344, with remains placed in state at 12:30 p.m. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Jefferson Avenue Baptist Church. Visitation will be Friday from 12:30 p.m. until the service hour at the church.
