John Shedlock, miner, was instantly killed in the Heidelburg No. 2 shaft, Lehigh Valley Coal Company. Shedlock was driving the gangway and had fired a blast in the face. After returning to examine what it had done, a large piece of rock, which had been liberated by the blast, fell from the roof on him.
