From Richland Beacon-News, 31 August 1940:
Funeral services for Mr. M. L. Middleton of Dunn were held at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon of last week. The services were conducted by Rev. A. R. Cates, pastor of the Rayville Presbyterian Church. The interment was in the New Salem Cemetery north of Girard.
The survivors are: three sons, Butler of Fort Necessity, Sidney and L. J. of Dunn; one daughter, Mrs. Rosella Inmnom, of Natchez, Miss.; two brothers, W. J. Middleton of Rayville and Willie Middleton of Archibald; and one sister, Miss Mary Elizabeth Middleton of Rayville.

(Family records indicate that he had one other child, Alma, who was the daughter of his second wife, Anna A. Wall. Dates of her birth and death are unknown at the time of this posting.)
