Mrs. Theis was born in Piedmont to the late Joe Harris Couch and Thelma Gary Scott Couch. She retired from Kemet Electronics and was a member of Bessie Road Baptist Church. Joanne was an avid reader and enjoyed cooking. She had an unconditional love for family and relished her role as “Granny” to her grandchildren.
Surviving are two sons and their wives, Mike and Brenda Theis, and Gary and Vickie Theis; a daughter and her husband, Debbie and Ronnie Cabe; a brother, Danny Couch and wife Ann; a brother-in-law, James Leroy; seven grandchildren, Brian Theis and wife Sarah, Mark Theis, Bryan Nabors and wife Marie, Travis Nabors and wife Dana, Justin Theis and wife Noelle, Brad Theis and wife Tyler, and Chuck Greenlee; two granddaughters, Lauren and Kendall Theis and two grandsons, Kylen and Cameron Nabors. She was predeceased by a sister, Aileen Leroy.
Burial in Greenville Memorial Gardens.
