Betty was born on March 7, 1936, in Bettsville, to Lewis Wohlgamuth and Lois (Hausman) Williams. She married Edward E. Mowery on January 24, 1953 in Fremont and he preceded her in death on August 2, 2016.
Survivors include her mother, Lois Williams of Bettsville, four children, Marla (Mark), Mary (Larry), Melody (Brian), and Mind (Tim), nine grandchildren, Monica, Jody, Jolene, Steven, Kelly, Rebecca, Abbi, Larry, and Ed, nineteen great-grandchildren, a sister-in-law Phyllis Coleman of Fremont, her godmother, Inez Smith of Fremont, and special cousins Pat & Judy Hubbs.
Betty was preceded in death by her father, Lewis Wohlgamuth, husband, Edward Mowery, a granddaughter, Aubri, and a brother, William "Boomer" Wohlgamuth.
Betty enjoyed bowling, mushroom hunting, and was an avid Cleveland Indians fan. Most important to Betty, however, was her family. She loved having frequent family gatherings and spending time with all of her grandchildren.
A memorial service for Betty will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, July 8, 2019 at the Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory in Tiffin. Visitation for family and friends will also be on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow the services on Monday at Pleasant Union Cemetery in Old Fort.
