David was born around 1750 in Clinton, NY. According to Family Search. org, His parents were Joseph Jay (1717-1762) and Emily Douglas (1712-1764). The last name GEE is Welsh and pronounced JAY, so some family members in Tioga County adopted the last name JAY.

David Gee or Jay enlisted in 1777 and served throughout the Revolutionary War. See attached record for details. David was at the battle and capture of Burgoyne and at the surrender of Cornwallis. He was discharged in 1783.

He married Mary (Polly) Ryder or Rider at Nine Partners, New York in 1787.

David died on March 7, 1833 at Farmington Township in Tioga County, PA.

According to this attached record, David and Mary had 6 children: Catherine, Robert, Susanna, Sally, Charity and Jesse.

There is a nearby Gee Family Cemetery that appears to not have a David Gee buried there. A photo of his wife, Mary's grave, shows her burial at Fairview Cemetery which presumes David most likely is also at Fairview Cemetery.
