From the SOUTH BEND TRIBUNE, February 26, 2012:

SOUTH BEND - Richard Ashton "Dick" Hutchinson of Vineyard Haven, Massachusetts, died peacefully at home surrounded by family on February 1, 2012, after a brief battle with cancer. He was 82 years old. Dick was a Senior Executive with Philip Morris International for over 30 years in a career that included senior management positions in Argentina, Venezuela and New York City.

He was born in Paris, France, in January 1930, and later moved to South Bend, Indiana, where his father assumed the role of President of Studebaker. Dick graduated from The Hill School in 1948 and from Yale University in 1953. He married June Adams in Paris, France, in September 1957, and they were happily married for over 50 years. He was a resident of Wilton, Connecticut, from 1977 to 1994.

During his retirement he worked for IESC (International Executive Service Corps). He then retired in Savannah, Georgia, from 1994 to 2010 where he was actively involved with Habitat for Humanity. Dick was a well-loved summer resident of Martha's Vineyard, where he and his wife June have owned a home for more than 40 years. He was an active member of the Vineyard Haven Yacht Club and the Farm Neck Golf Club. Dick considered Martha's Vineyard his home, and he cherished the time he spent there with friends and family. His generosity, sense of humor, and twinkle in his eye will be missed by all.

Dick is survived by his devoted wife, June Hutchinson of Vineyard Haven, Massachusetts; and two daughters, Diane Hutchinson Reilly and husband, Paul C. Reilly of Chicago, Illinois, and Darien, Connecticut, and their children, Paul, Nate and Caroline Reilly; and Alexandra Hutchinson Kline and her husband, Richard Gruver Kline of Darnestown, Maryland, and their children, Ashton, Tori and Drew Kline. He is also survived by his sister, Patricia Robert of New York City, and his brother, Paul Kennedy Hutchinson of Tampa, Florida, and all his wonderful nieces and nephews.
