Dr. T.M. McVay, one of the best known and most highly respected citizens of Noble County, died at his home at Summerfield last Wednesday evening, following a lingering illness, being 72 years of age.

Dr. McVay, in his earlier life, practiced medicine at Middleburg and also at Dexter City. He was elected county treasurer on the Republican ticket, serving the county for two terms in this capacity. He was a useful citizen, being a natural leader.

Mr. McVay is survived by a widow and four children, all of Summerfield, viz: Miles, Dick, Mrs. Stanley Dalrymple and Miss Maggie. Funeral services, under the direction of the Masonic order, of which he was an honored member, were held at Summerfield, after which the remains were brought to Caldwell. Assisted by Caldwell masons, the body was taken to the home of Taylor Bivens, a life-long friend, where it was viewed by a large concourse of friends, after which interment was made in the Olive cemetery.
