Stella Ann Tallman, 83 of Lancaster, Mo passed away at the Schuyler County Nursing Home with her husband Bryce at her side on Tuesday, July 02, 2019

The daughter of Cecil and Sibyl (Lasley) Steen, she was born on December 24, 1935 in Julesburg, Mo. Ann was a 1953 graduate of the Queen City High School in Queen City, MO.

Ann was united in marriage to Charles Cook and to this union three sons were born, Charles (Corky), Robert (Robb), and Henry Cook.

On their second date Bryce Tallman asked Ann to be his wife and they were married March 19, 1977, combining the two families into one. Ann inherited Annette West, Marcia, Curtis, Patrick, and Elizabeth Ann Tallman. Bryce and Ann blessed our family of eight with one more addition Everett Austin Tallman born April 22, 1979.

Survivors include her husband Bryce Tallman, her children Annette West of Newton, IA, Corky Cook and wife Sonia of Downing, MO, Marcia Martin and husband Stanley of Lancaster, MO, Robb Cook and wife Dana of Merriman, NB, Curtis Tallman and wife Cindy, Patrick Tallman and wife Joanna, Henry Cook and wife Julie, and Beth Haley and husband Matt all of Lancaster, MO. Twenty four grandchildren and 39 great grandchildren, with the 40th due in August. One very special sister-in-law Shirlene Hartsock and husband Dave of Glenwood, MO.

Ann is preceded in death by her son Everett Austin Tallman on March 11, 1997, one son-in-law James West, her parents and one brother Cecil Edwin “Bud” Steen.

Ann was baptized at the Bethel Church in Glenwood, MO, she later transferred her membership to the Lancaster Christian Church.

Ann worked with her mother Sibyl and sister-in-law Shirlene cleaning the local motel. She then went to work at the Schuyler County Extension Office; this is where she ran into Bryce.

Mom loved to read, she kept the library girls busy keeping her in books. She also enjoyed watching several cooking shows, which always amazed us since she was unable to eat for so many years. Her favorites were Emeril Lagasse and Paula Deen. Mom loved the farm life with Dad. She spent a lot of time with their outside cats and her special Princess that stayed inside with her. Mom enjoyed each and every one of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She had a running joke telling each one of them that they were her favorite and each one of us believed her.

Pallbearers will be Dustin Cook, Jordan Martin, Chance Cook, Rhett Cook, Daniel Haley, and Colby Fredrick.Stella Tallman
