According to the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), Margaret Eaton is a recognized female patriot of the American Revolution for the damages she suffered. Dar records report she provided headquarters for General George Washington in 1783, is mentioned in the New Jersey Revolutionary War Damage Claims, the Papers of the Continental Congress and the 23 October 1793 Pennsylvania Packet & General Advertiser newspaper (Vol. 13, p. 4).
