Mr. Dorton was born November 22, 1904 to Henry and Ella (Harris) Dorton of Fall City, Oregon. He married Elma J. Minto on October 24, 1956 in Reno Nevada.
He worked as a mechanic for the County of Modoc Road Department for many years and served in the US Navy from 1942 to 1945 during World War II.
He is survived by his wife, three daughters, brother Darrel Dorton, five grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Services were held July 1 at Alturas Cemetery with Pastor Rod Bodmer officiating. The family requests donations be made to the American Lung Association.
