Luella A. Ruzicka-Zvacek, 98 years, of Schuyler, NE formerly of North Bend, NE died Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at Schuyler Care & Rehab Center. Luella was born on June 21, 1918 on the family farm near Dodge, NE to Vincent and Cyprianna(Janecek)Kriz.
She was a 1936 graduate of Dodge High School. Luella married Milo A. Ruzicka on January 31, 1940. He died on April 25, 1959. Luella then married Rynold Zvacek on November 22, 1960. They farmed and were longtime residents of North Bend. Rynold died on March 21, 1998.
Her hobbies included playing cards, bowling, reading, sewing, gardening and raising chickens. She was a member of United Presbyterian Church in North Bend and belonged to the V.F.W. Auxiliary.
Luella is survived by her son, Rodney(Kathryn)Ruzicka of Schuyler; son-in-law, John Adams of Easton, Kansas; stepson, Donald(Sally)Zvacek of North Bend; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; eight step grandchildren and nineteen step great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Milo Ruzicka and Rynold Zvacek; daughter, Carol(Ruzicka)Adams; a grandson; and sister and brother-in-law, Melba and Frode Jensen.
Funeral service will be 10:30 AM, Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at United Presbyterian Church, in North Bend. The Rev. Michael Hill will officiate. Visitation will be Monday from 4 to 7 PM at Moser Memorial Chapel in North Bend. Visitation continues Tuesday one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be 1:30 PM Tuesday at Bohemian National Cemetery at Dodge.
