Mrs. Wilma Wiggins, died peacefully in her sleep at the age of 85, in the early morning hours of June 2, 2019, at 1:25 am.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Frank Wiggins; her mother and father Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd (Arizona) Deatherage; one sister, Mrs. Don (Donna) Freeman and two brothers, Mr. and Mrs. Delbert (Patricia) Deatherage and Mr. Gerald Deatherage.
Wilma and Frank had two children, a daughter, Mrs. Sylvia Searls (Bertram) and a son, Terry Freeman (Connie). She also had four grandchildren, Vincent Searls, Bobbie Freeman, Terry Freeman Jr. and Sonja Freeman and many nieces, nephews and great- grandchildren.
Wilma was born in Missouri and taught a few years in a one room school house in southern Missouri. She moved with her family mother, Arizona and father, Lloyd Deatherage to Dixon, Illinois, in the 1950's. Wilma worked in Dixon as a factory worker at the Freeman Shoe Factory and the Borg Warner Company. Later she worked at the John Deere Historic Site, in Grand Detour, IL, as a tour guide for 17 years prior to her retirement.
A graveside ceremony will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, June 8, 2019, at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, in Dixon, IL, with Reverend Randy Sizemore, officiating. Wilma will be laid to rest next to her husband, Mr. Frank Wiggins.
Memorials may be directed to Northern Illinois Hospice and Bethel Evangelical Congregational Church in Dixon.
